How long have you been natural?:
I’ve been natural for about three years now. Going natural was something I decided to do in college. I was all about discovering myself and loving myself for who I am so embracing my natural hair felt right at that time.
Why did you go natural?:
Going natural was something I decided to do in college. I was all about discovering myself and loving myself for who I am so embracing my natural hair felt right at that time.
A short regimen you can share:
My hair regimen is pretty simple. Every two weeks or so I detangle my hair with a cheap shampoo and and plain old water put it in large loose two strand twists and cleanse my scalp. I do this with diluted sulfate free shampoo. Then I will rinse everything out and do a deep condition for an hour with either hair mayonnaise or Giovanii deeper moisture conditioner depending on what I think my hair needs. Then follow it up with an oil rinse (my diy olve, castor and coconut oil mix).
After a brief session in an old tee-shirt to absorb most of the water ill moisturize with Giovanni Direct Leave in conditioner, add a light oil such as sweet almond oil or Jaydee’s Naturals Whipped Shea Butter from my friend Jodie ( depending on what im doing to my hair after).
After this I let my hair dry in braids to stretch it out and proceed to style for the week after it has dried to about 95%.
What are some of your favorite products?:
As you can tell my favorite products are the Giovanni direct leave in and Shea butter. They go awesome together in my hair.
What are some of your favorite styles?:
I love updos. Since my hair behaves better streched and updos keep it that way they are my fave style.(plus its quick and easy) I can rock the same updo for 2 weeks #dontjudgeme lol.
What is your most favorite and least thing about being natural?:
My fave thing about my maine is how versitle it is, i can go from curly to draight long to short its great.
I love my hair so it’s hard for me to find a frustrating feature but if I had to choose one it may just be the fact that I have a lot of densely packed hair so a lot of patience is required when dealing with it (which is not one of my strong points).
What is one piece of advice that all women should have(pertaining to confidence)?:
Its your hair, it comes out of your head its how God made you and theres nothing wrong with that. Loving your hair is like loving yourself and everyone should love themselves. If you love it that confidense will shine through no mtter what. Yes, the journey may sometimes be hard but rememebr in the end it will be worth it. Be proud of every aspect of yourself including your mane.

Do you have any advice on going natural?:
Start with loving your hair and everything else will fall into place…and if all else flails #protectivestyle it lol.
