How long have you been natural?:
(I am) 13 months fully natural. Transitioned for six months prior.

Why did you go natural?:
I first relaxed my hair when I was 14 years old. Since then I had a number of different styles, and sometimes I never really felt like my actual hair was nice. The only time I felt like my hair was nice was when I was younger and my hair was big, soft and natural. I used to touch my new growth because I liked the texture and curls. So when I was 21, I decided to transition back to my natural hair.

A short regimen you can share:
I shampoo every other week and condition weekly. Oil and moisturize as necessary.

Natural pattern extensions added

What are some of your favorite products?:
My essential products are Shea butter, flaxseed gel (homemade), TRESemme Naturals shampoo and conditioner.

What are some of your favorite styles?:
FLAT TWIST STYLES! Either flat twist outs or protective styles with flat twists. They’re so quick and easy. I’m quite lazy and its a quick style I can do before bed or work. Recently, I have  found a brand of weave that blends perfectly with my natural hair so now I have a new heatless go to weave style.

What is your most favorite and least thing about being natural?:
(My) favorite thing has to be the versatility and least favorite thing has to be wash day. Would rather spend that time eating/sleeping.

Red dress fun

What is one piece of advice that all women should have(pertaining to confidence)?:
If you like it, go for it! Don’t worry what anyone else thinks.

What natural hair bloggers/vloggers inspire you?:
Laila (FusionofCultures on YouTube)
Kandy (TheMissKandy on youtube)

Do you have any advice on going natural?:
My main piece of advice would be to find out what works for you. It’s easy to try something that works for someone else and get discouraged when you don’t see the same results. Natural hair is so versatile and everyone’s hair is different so don’t be afraid to experiment to find the best combination of products/styles for you.
