Hey Curlies,

Since it’s still feels like summer, I decided I’d try a wash n go before the weather breaks. The last time I did a wash n go was in 2013 and I’ve definitely learned some techniques since then.

I’d been wearing my top knot all week and my hair was in need of some TLC to say the least. It was a dry, dirty and tangled mess!

I started off by spraying my hair with some apple cider vinegar and water, then hopped in the shower.

The beginning

Working one half at a time, I washed using Shea Moisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil (this gets my scalp very clean), then deep conditioned with Shea Moisture’s Superfruit Complex Hair Masque.

After rinsing and squeezing the water from my hair, I began to style the wash n go.

I used (for the first time) Coconut & Moringa Oils Humidity Block Curl Gel from the Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture line.

I applied lots and lots of gel to both halves of my hair, covering the ends all the way to the roots.

Once out of the shower, I let it air dry for a few hours, then before bed I banded my hair to keep it stretched.
