Hey Curlies,

In the last few days I’ve been talking about the Wonder Curl brand during my post promotion and mini twists tutorial, but I haven’t had a chance to formally review this products for you all.

Butter than Love Whipped (pictured on the left)

What it contains:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Caprylic/Capric/Stearic Glycerides, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Acrylates/C-10 Alkyl Acrylates, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

What it claims to do:
To hydrate and moisturize curls.

Uses:
As a moisturizer and styler

My review:
At the beginning I was really excited about this product because I noted that it had aloe vera juice, castor oil and shea butter in it. These are all really great ingredients that I try to use in my everyday regimen. Initially, I expected it to be smooth, but more of a pressed substance. I was definitely wrong. The texture of this product is very similar to a light and fluffy cake icing. It was not hard and pressed like shea butter but very moisturizing.

I used this product to create my mini twists and I also thought that because of the aloe vera juice that I would experience shrinkage, but to my surprise it did not. I did not experience any shrinkage at all. I also only ended up using not even a fourth of the jar for my entire head. Overall, I definitely give this product a 5 out of 5.

Get Set Hair Jelly (pictured on right)

What it contains:
Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Juice, Polyquaternium 7, dl-Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Hamamelis virginiana (Witch Hazel), Phenoxyethanol, Vegetable Glycerin, Alcohol denatured, Carbomer, TEA, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Fragrance

What it claims to do:
Defines curls and protects from humidity

Uses:
As a styler and curl definer

My review:
At first, I wasn’t sure how to use this product because it seems as if this is used a lot with wash n go styles which I do not do often. Since I was doing mini twists, I decided to use it on my edges for a smooth look and on the ends of my hair a few days after completion to coil them a little more. This is defnietly a light weight gel because it isn’t heavy, and you don’t need a lot for a good hold. I didn’t experience any crunchiness.

I kind of figured that this product would work really well for my hair because I used aloe vera gel in my hair almost weekly and I love it. I also learned that this gel also contains B5 vitamins which help strengthen hair. Overall I give this product a 5 out of 5.
