How long have you been natural or transitioning?
I’ve been natural basically my whole life. My dad let someone give me one of those kiddie perms when I was 2 and I got a texturizer at age 9. Beside that, I’ve been relaxer free. So Bree, my hair, and I have been together for around 17 years.
A short regimen you can share?
I’n a very lazy person so I do things when I feel like it. I usually wash my hair every week or every other week. I love sulfates & cones so I try not to go long periods without shampooing.
Usually I’ll condition, DT, detangle then apply my leave in  before plaiting my hair up as I find my hair dries quicker this way. In the morning I put a light oil on my hands then unravel and fluff. I like to keep things simple. I’m a busy yet lazy teenager so time is of the essence.
I usually rock a braid out for 2-3 days then l’ll do a Bantu knot out, followed by a puff or bun towards the end of the week.
I love, love, love braids & other extensions! It makes my life so much easier. It’s just wake up and go hair. I usually wear my hair like this 6-9 months out of the year just for convenience.
Do you have any Favorite Products?
Let’s see, for washing & conditioning I love Creme of Nature and ElastaQP  products. Bree loves the Shea Moisture smoothie & style milk. I’ve been using coconut oil & EVOO since I was a child and they’ve never let me down;however, I’ve recently fallen in love with Sweet Almond oil & Tea Tree oil. I use a moisturizer called One Bottle 6n1. It works great for twists and just keeping the hair moisturized. For hold or to sleek my hair back I’ll uses a mixture of Eco Styler and AVG or Curls Control Paste. Oh and KCCC and KCSS are some of my favorites as well.
I like to alternate products but those are my main ones.
Do you have any advice on Going Natural?
Listen to your hair. Find out what it likes and doesn’t like. You’ll avoid a lot of heartache in the end.
Stay true to yourself. Do what’s best for you. Everyone is  different. If you find out somewhere along the road a relaxer is easier for you, don’t feel guilty. It’s your life and it’s your hair.
