Hey Curlies!

Here’s another featured profile. Isn’t her hair and name (I’m silly) beautiful?

1.      Tell us a little about yourself and your beauty line.
My name is Victoria Francis and I am the Founder of NouriShea, a natural Hair and Skincare brand based on formulations with 100% USDA Certified Organic Shea Butter and essential oils.
2.      When and why did you decide to go natural?
I went natural in 2003 when I was pregnant with my first child. Before then I wore a perm and loved it, but when I became pregnant, I decided to stop. I started transitioning with braids and when I felt comfortable enough with my hair, I wore it out in an afro.
3.      What are some of your favorite hair products?

Of course NouriShea tops the list because I formulated the hair care products especially to fit me and my family’s needs. I also like Taliah Waajid Black Earth products for my dreadlocks. I haven’t tried that many products as I try to not use too much products in my hair to avoid buildup.

4.       A short hair regimen you can share?

I have dreadlocks so I try to keep my regimen as simple as possible. I wash my hair my NouriShea Tea tree Shampoo. I make sure to really work in the shampoo so I get the full benefits of the tea tree oil and Organic Shea butter.  If needed, I condition with my NouriShea Mango Conditioner and rinse my locks thoroughly. I then re-twist my new growth with Organic coconut oil.

5.      Do you have any advice to others thinking about going natural?
The best advice I can give to anyone thinking about going natural is follow your heart. As much as I would love to say “just do it”, it’s really a matter what you want as an individual want for yourself. Do your research on your current hair regimen and also on what it takes to maintain “natural hair”. If you want to do the least damage to your hair and the earth, getting back to natural state is best, but make sure its what you really want to do
6.      What types of ingredients do your use to create your products?
The core of all my formulations is our 100% USDA certified Shea butter. We also use coconut oil, jojoba oil; olive oil, and other essential oils.  Everything we use is either organic or natural. We try to deliver the best hair and skincare products that not only great for your skin but also safe for our environment.
7.      Anything else you would like to add about natural hair in general?
Wearing natural hair is freedom. I’ve had natural hair for a very long time and wouldn’t change it for the world. If it’s for you, do it, enjoy it and express yourself!
