Hey Curlies,
The decision to transition to your natural curls can be exciting, but it can also be challenging to relearn how your hair operates. It can also be difficult if you don’t have any support to help you along the way.
As I’ve been natural for over 10 years, I’ve updated this post with some much-needed tips for transitioners.

Following you’ll find 3 tips for those transitioning to natural hair.
1. Avoid all heat appliances as much as possible
I know it’s tough when you first began to transition because natural hair is something you must adapt to and accept. Flat irons and blow dryers not only fry and dry our hair out they can also cause heat damage and breakage. This happens when too much heat is applied to the hair follicle, and the original curl pattern dissolves. I do use a hooded blow dryer on warm heat while doing roller sets but the less often, the better! Try air drying a roller set if time isn’t an issue.
2. Moisture is key
3. Accept yourself and your hair for what it is
